Aisha's 3rd Birthday

On Sunday we celebrated Aisha's 3rd birthday! I cannot believe I have a 3 year old!
I even shed a few tears and for those of you who know me you know that is quite unusual!! I love love love this age!!
She said she didn't want a party, so no party it was! She is much more of a one on one child than being the center of attention at a party!
She started the day with a sea of balloons, which she thought was the greatest thing ever!
Then she opened her gifts!

then breakfast was cinnamon roll pancakes

Then we went to church where she was spoiled by her cousins! Then we headed to Red Robin with some other cousins

She was not to impressed that they sang Happy Birthday to her (she HATES attention from people she does not know)

Then we went home and got in comfy clothes and gave her a bike!

Her handsome brother loved all the excitement!!

She has been so entertained playing with her gifts!

Happy Birthday sweetie, we loved trying to make your day special!

Lovely Monday

It is no secret that  Monday is probably my favorite day of the week.
Now don't get me wrong I love weekends and spending time with my family, but there is something so refreshing to me about waking up Monday morning with a fresh start! A fresh new week!

We throw schedule and routine out the door for the weekend and I am so happy to invite it back in come Monday!

This week looks absolutely lovely (weather wise) so I'm so excited to get this week started!

We are off to spend this day with some good friends!

Happy Monday, do you love them or hate them?

Weekend in Review

We had a bit of a rough week last week, sickness/loss of sleep, Lets just say I do NOT do well with losing sleep!!

I was very ready for the weekend! and we had a fun time!

Friday night we took the kids to the mall (I just really needed out of the house)

Could these two look more alike?

Saturday the kids played outside most of the day, they are both very content playing outside! I'm looking forward to the weather getting nicer!

While doing wash Saturday, I found this. This kid is absolutely crazy! He makes me laugh all of the time!

Yesterday we had friends over for lunch then we just lounged around I love relaxing weekends with my family!

And now its snowing out! Wow the weather in the northeast is quite confusing!

Happy Monday (yes my favorite day of the week)

Happy Birthday Steve

Today is Steve's 29th birthday!
We went out on Saturday night to celebrate at The Cheesecake Factory!

Steve is the most amazing father!

This was lunch on Saturday. He knows how to make his daughters day!

He has taught me so much about being a parent! He looks at each day as an opportunity to make a difference. He is always doing little things to show the kids he loves them, and in return his kids absolutely adore him!

Aisha and I are having fun coming up with things to make his day special! She loves celebrating birthdays, and has been keeping his gift a secret for a couple of days (which is surprising) So we are looking forward to him getting home from work tonight!

I love you Steve, and I love going through life with you!

Confessions of a Mommy

~I HATE lollipops! when we go to the bank I pray my kids will be entertained watching their video and not realize where we are at (my husband thinks this is borderline child abuse)

~I am very uncreative when playing with my kids (especially a one year old) I am much better at reading books, coloring, putting puzzle together.

~When I'm getting ready I sometimes lock myself in the bathroom. (I mean seriously how am I supposed to get my eyeliner straight when I have two kids pulling at my leg)

~I struggle with keeping a clean/organized house and letting my kids be kids. Sometimes I feel like I'm more concerned about how my house looks than the happiness of my kids (wow that was hard to admit). I want my kids to be able to have fun and creative in my house but sometimes the mess drives me CRAZY. So this is something I'm working on daily. and to all you mothers with older kids who are saying "Oh just enjoy this age it will pass so quickly" would you like to come do my housework???? really, I'm being serious.

~I would stay home all the time, because I really do enjoy staying home, but mostly because it is so much work taking kids anywhere I mean just to get out the door is a huge task, but thankfully I am married to a man who loves to be on the go and hates sitting around, so we go and I really do love it and usually end up having a ton of fun

~I live for nap time!!! My kids absolutely ware me out so if you come to my house between 1:00 and 3:00 I will most likely be on the couch relaxing!

I'm on a journey of "delighting in" my kids (even when they are eating lollipops) maybe I will post about it soon.

Happy Monday! I'm off to make a birthday cake for Steve's birthday, wish me luck!

InstaFriday

life rearranged

To say this child likes looking at books would be a HUGE understatment! He is obsessed with his Usborne farm animal hide and seek book

Who needs toys when mommy leaves you play in the pantry? Some days I think my kids would not even notice if I got rid of all their toys.

This winter has been brutal for this little guy! currently he is pushing his top two molors through and he had the stomach bug! Lets just say I am VERY ready for spring to arrive!

Happy Friday

What I Wore Wednesday

So I'm back with What I Wore Wednesday! I have really needed a kick in the butt latley to get out of my sweats! It does not help if every morning Aisha wakes up and begs to stay in her pj's! Every morning (ok every other) morning when I'm getting her dressed she asked where we are going, I think that may be a bad sign that we stay in our pj's to much:)
Mint shirt~ rue21 (on sale)
Coral pants ~ gift from my sister (she's knows me very well)
Boots~ Boscovs (gift from my mom)

Back to Blogging

So I took a little blogging break! For a few reasons

*It was a little time consuming and with two little kids I felt like I was spending to much time on the computer and needed more of a balance. but since they both sleep longer than I do now I feel like I have a little more time in the morning (finally)

*I felt like I was not being real. I want my blog to show who we really are, but that is very hard to do in the cyber world. If I post all happy things I look like I have my life altogether and it is just perfect and I am just a perfect mom (NOT TRUE) but If I complain about things I feel like a whiner.
When Nicholas was a tiny I had a very hard time! He was not a good baby and I was very hormonal. I didn't want to write to much about it because there are people dealing with things way worse than a cranky baby, there are some people who would love to just have their baby whether cranky or not, so I felt guilty if I shared what I was feeling (which was not always very pretty).

* I also do not want my kids to look back on my blogs when they are older and read my complaining about them, I want them to remember the happy times because I know I will forget about the bad times. I already have forgotten some (ok maybe just a little).

*I really am not a great writer, and my spelling and grammer are horrible (thank you spell check)

But I really do miss documenting about our life and about my kids which is the reason I'm back. So as you read my blog just know that I love my life but I am sometimes very unhappy with it. I love my husband very much but sometimes he irritates me, there are three lightbulbs out in our house right now (I groan when a lightbulb goes out for some reason it just irritates me, doesn't take much I know)  and he keeps telling me that he will take care of them so finally last night I stomped my foot and said "tomorrow I'm going to the hardware store and buying new lightbulbs" and he said "No I will take care of it I'm going to Yale Electric tomorrow and will get them our local hardware store does not have the right ones". I should have stomped my foot earlier:) I love my kids more than I can say but sometimes they drive me crazy and I want to ship them out the door and lock it (believe me I have never done that).

So here is to trying to be real the the cyber world!

I will leave you with a picture because a blog post is no fun without pictures!
